Question:
Why did my ATP500 devices fail to sync when setting up Device HA?
Answer:
The sync failure likely occurred due to overlapping IP subnets between the heartbeat port and the VTI interface. This issue can prevent proper synchronization and even cause problems accessing the Device HA page.
Solution:
- First, make sure that the IP subnets of the heartbeat port and other interfaces do not overlap with the VTI interface.
- Access the device's CLI using SSH if web GUI access is problematic. You can use the command
show interface all
to verify the IP assignments and ensure there are no overlaps. - Change the VTI interface IP subnet if there is an overlap with the heartbeat port.
- Rebuild the Device HA after making these adjustments.
By following these steps, the Device HA sync should start working normally.
