How to extract binary file
Freshman Member
Hi, my product NBG6604 seems to be an end-of-life product so the new firmware is a zip file. So how can I extract the existing binary file? And what does it mean that I possibly have to reconfigure? How can it be done?

Hello @Eijamaria
Welcome to the forum.
You are correct that the NBG6604 is End of Service from Zyxel.
There is a ZIP file of the last firmware available at https://www.zyxel.com/uk/en-gb/support/download?model=nbg6604
I think that it is ZIPed using a Lempel-Ziv-Welch or Lempel-Ziv-Markov compression method that a program such as 7-ZIP (see https://www.7-zip.org/ ) can uncompress and leave you with a .bin file.
The user guide explains how to do firmware upgrade once you have the .bin file.
I hope that this is helpful.
Kind regards,
Tony
