Question:
Why is my USG FLEX 500H not providing power to PoE devices
Answer:
If your USG FLEX 500H is experiencing issues with PoE after a firmware update, follow these steps:
- Ensure that you have performed a cold reboot by unplugging and replugging the power cord. A cold reboot is different from a simple software reboot or pressing the reboot button.
- Verify that the PoE Power Budget does not exceed 30 watts. The USG FLEX 500H has a total PoE power budget of 30 watts, which needs to be shared among all connected devices.
- If only one device is connected and it works fine, but issues arise with multiple devices, it indicates the power budget is being exceeded.
You can check by following command:
usgFlexH> cmd poe-state
