RSRQ stands for Reference Signal Receive Quality, which is the ratio of the Reference Signal Receive Power (RSRP) to the E-UTRA carrier RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). It measures the quality of the received reference signal from the connected LTE cell.

RSRQ values help you assess the quality of the cellular signal. A higher RSRQ indicates better signal quality, while a lower value suggests poorer quality and potential connectivity issues.

The RSRQ level of the connected E-UTRA cell, displayed in 0.1 dB, follows the specifications in 3GPP-TS.36.214. An undetectable signal is indicated by the lower limit, for example, –240.

  • This parameter is specific to LTE networks.
  • The normal RSRQ range is from –30 dB to –240 dB.
  • If the device is not using LTE or there is no network connection, the RSRQ value will show –240 or ‘N/A’ respectively.
