Nebula switch management - no Voice VLAN on trunk port
Ally Member
Nebula does not appear to allow 'trunk' ports (which are required for multiple 'tagged' VLANs) to be assigned a voice VLAN via LLDP. We design our networks as 'device agnostic' e.g. plug any device into any port and this lack of functionality causes a problem. Is there a way to provision 'LLDP voice VLAN' and 'multiple VLAN tagging" on the same port as can be done when a switch in not in Nebula?
If not - it's a feature request.

Hi @electsystech,
The trunk mode doesn't have the Voice VLAN option because the concepts are different.
Voice VLAN separates voice data from other traffic, the purpose of which differs from the trunk port that can carry traffic for multiple VLANs over a link.
Since most of MSI/IT design the network with clear plan, which ports are for PC and which are for specific devices, therefore, please change the port type from trunk to access once you connect an IP Phone.

That doesn't provide the requested solution. We are requesting all ports to be device type agnostic. (Plug any device into any port and LLDP will assign it to the correct VLAN). This can be done when the switch in not in Nebula. Its a limitation of Nebula.

I understand. Could you share the effect that Nebula doesn't support the 'trunk' ports (which are required for multiple 'tagged' VLANs) being assigned a voice VLAN via LLDP? This information will help with this issue.
