Hello you all

I just found out after a crasch of my NAS542 that Zyxel dumpt all the NAS products and you don't get updates and so on.

I have two quetions, after a verry long time i managed to get the NSAS542 working again, but i cant get any apps on the machine so at this moment it is useless to me.

does anyone know how i can get the apps on the NAS, if not is it possible to install a diffirent OS on the nas something like Freenas?

Thanks in advance

The package server is still running for the '542, so if you can't install packages, maybe something is still wrong, on that NAS.

When you search the forum, you'll find that there is a way to install Debian+OpenMediaVault. Problem is that most posts are about a bootloop. For some reason sometimes the Debian installation damages the boot environment, and I have no idea how often it's problem free.
