NWA50AX - one of the stations keeps losing connection to the AP
Hello, I have a NWA50AX access point serving the wi-fi clients on the groundfloor.
One of the wi-fi clients keeps connecting and re-connecting, as follows:
2025-02-26 09:52:34 Wireless LANStation: 84:f3:eb:62:7e:f1 blocked by key handshake fail on Channel: 11, SSID: Service24, 2.4GHz, Signal: -48dBm, Download/Upload: 0Bytes/0Bytes, reason 2, Interface: wlan-1-2 [count=2]
2025-02-26 09:52:34Wireless LANStation: 84:f3:eb:62:7e:f1 deauthenticated by key handshake fail [count=2]
2025-02-26 09:52:34Wireless LANStation: 84:f3:eb:62:7e:f1 left on Channel: 11, SSID: Service24, 2.4GHz, Signal: -48dBm, Download/Upload: 282Bytes/1KB, reason 3, Interface: wlan-1-2 [count=2]
2025-02-26 09:52:27Wireless LANStation: 84:f3:eb:62:7e:f1 connected on Channel: 11, SSID: Service24, 2.4GHz, Signal: -46dBm, Interface: wlan-1-2
2025-02-26 09:52:16Wireless LANStation: 84:f3:eb:62:7e:f1 blocked by key handshake fail on Channel: 11, SSID: Service24, 2.4GHz, Signal: -48dBm, Download/Upload: 0Bytes/0Bytes, reason 2, Interface: wlan-1-2

2025-02-26 09:52:06Wireless LANStation: 84:f3:eb:62:7e:f1 connected on Channel: 11, SSID: Service24, 2.4GHz, Signal: -48dBm, Interface: wlan-1-2
……….
Such loop continues throughout the day. This SSID is dedicated to IoT devices and works on 2.4GHz only, not hidden, password not unusual, the AP firmware is up to date. We have tried changing the client's station to a brand new one, but the problem with the client has not been resolved.
I would be grateful for any advice on this issue - what could be done in this situation? Thanks!

Hi @Avictor,
Could you help collect the diagnostic file when the issue happens and enable Zyxel support so we can help check this issue? Also, please share the IoT device information with us.

Hi @Avictor,
After checking, our engineer gave these feedbacks:
- Station key handshake failed due to the AP didn't receive a proper response, which might be STA behavior or an environment issue, as for the environment part, we suggest lowering the bandwidth to 20MHz.
- The station frequently disconnected due to the STA sending the disassociate message to the AP to disconnect it itself, AP follows the standard behavior to disconnect it.
- If the issue only occurs on particular IoT devices, it's also suggested to create a dedicated OPEN + hidden SSID for IoT networking connection.
Please try and feel free to let me know if there are further questions.

Thank you for help. After following your recommendations and rebooting the AP, all seems in order.
