Thank you so much for the detailed explanation. I am letting the upstream sync sort itself out first. This may take awhile as the NAS is at home with quite a slow up speed.

Once everything is back to normal, I will give that a try. It sounds like it should work. I just need to figure out how to stop Syncthing starting autamatically on the NAS. after a boot. Should be easy enough.

I will report back how things work out.
