Q:

XS3800-28 unable to go online on Nebula when using DHCP range 192.168.0.X

A:

By default, the XS3800-28 reserves the IP address 192.168.0.1 for its MGMT (out-of-band management) interface. If the local DHCP server is configured to assign IP addresses within the same 192.168.0.X subnet, a conflict occurs between the Out-of-Band MGMT interface’s static IP and the in-band management interface (VLAN 1), which obtains an IP via DHCP. As a result, the switch is unable to obtain a valid IP address and fails to come online in Nebula. You will see an IP conflict message in the local log (as shown in the screenshot below).

Workaround:

If the DHCP server configuration cannot be changed, we recommend modifying the XS3800-28’s Out-of-Band MGMT interface IP to a different subnet. Follow these steps:

1. Before Connect to nebula

Log in to XS3800, navigate to SYSTEM > IP Setup > IP Setup and change the Out-of-Band MGMT interface IP to an IP addr other than 192.168.0.X

And then make sure the in-band management interface IP addr can use 192.168.0.X IP addr and connect to Nebula.

2. After connect to Nebula, the XS3800 will be factory reset,

Log in to XS3800 using SSH or console, and enter the following commands to change the MGMT IP:
config
ip addr X.X.X.X X.X.X.X
exit
write memory
Replace X.X.X.X X.X.X.X with the new IP address and subnet mask (make sure it does not overlap with the DHCP range).

And then make sure the in-band management interface IP addr can use 192.168.0.X IP addr and connect to Nebula. The nebula will push the config to your XS3800-28.
