Is it possible to add a guest WLAN to a normal WLAN with static IPs that has no connection to the existing network and assigns the addresses of the guest clients via DHCP?

    Hi @Piralas,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Before we provide detailed configuration steps, we’d like to confirm a few details to ensure the solution fits your needs precisely.

    1. Just to clarify, are you looking to separate the guest network from your existing internal network — similar to an employee SSID and a guest SSID setup — where guest clients can obtain IP addresses via a DHCP server in order to access the internet, but remain isolated from the internal LAN?
    2. To better assist you, could you please share your current network topology and let us know whether your devices are managed through Nebula Control Center (NCC) or operating in standalone mode?
    3. In the meantime, you may refer to the following resources for a general understanding of guest network configuration:
      1. User's Guide
      2. How to set up Guest access to the network on Nebula

Looking forward to your reply so we can assist you further.

    Hi Zyxel Tina,

    thank You for your reply.

    Point 1: that is correct

    Point 2: Lancom-Router (Internet-access) → XMG1930-30 → NWA90AX in standalone mode.

Point 3: Some days ago I tried User`s Guide 8.2.4 Set Up General and Guest WiFi Networks on Both Radios, but that did not work. The guests could not obtain an IP-adress through an AP with static IP.

    Hi @Piralas,

    Thank you for the information!

In this case, please refer to the following articles to see how to configure the Guest WiFi correctly. They show the procedure for editing the Security Profile, SSID Profile, and WLAN settings.

    Hi @Zyxel_Tina,

Thank you for the suggestions. The first article helped, the crucial point was the Layer-2 Isolation. In the User`s Guide, a guest network was described in which the separation was made by different VLAN IDs, which did not work for me. But with Layer 2 Isolation in the same VLAN, it now works.
