NR5103E - Network parameters always showing 0 (RSCP, EcNo, CQI, etc.)
Freshman Member
Dear Zyxel Support,
I’m using the ZYXEL NR5103E router with an LTE-A network and I’ve encountered an issue where the following network parameters always display as 0, regardless of actual network load or conditions:
RSCP: 0
EcNo: 0
CQI: 0
PMI: 0
RI: 0
MCS: 0
Device software details:
Module SW version: MP1V120XS.2133.01.B1
Current Firmware Version: V1.00(ACDJ.1)D1
This is the latest available firmware. I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps without success:
Switching between different network modes (5G/4G only, Auto, etc.)
Testing with both external (EXT) and internal (INT) antennas
Locking frequency bands and specific PCI cells
None of these actions resolved the issue — the values remain at zero at all times.
I understand from the documentation that parameters like RSCP and EcNo are specific to UMTS or GPRS, and that according to the guide:
> “This parameter is for UMTS or GPRS. The value is '0' (zero) if the Current Access Technology is not UMTS or GPRS. The value is 'N/A' if there is no network connection.”
That makes sense. However, parameters such as CQI, MCS, RI, and PMI are relevant for LTE/LTE-A, and I would expect them to report values under normal network conditions. Their persistent zero values suggest that there may be a firmware issue, a problem with reporting logic, or another software limitation.
Could you please clarify if this is a known issue or if a fix is available?
Thank you in advance for your support.
Best regards
