Hi all,

i updated my WBE660S to 7.20. Since that i see 1-2 reboots per day (Log: Device is rebooted by kernel panic!).

I saw this reboots in the past with enabled MLO, after disabling the AP runs perfect.

Can i disable MLO in 7.20? The button is gone because of implementing Wifi7 at all.

Regards

Christian

@Zyxel: I allow remote diagnostic for you, if you want to have a look.

Update: After deepdive in my logs it seems it is much moe: 12 reboots in 12h :-(

I deliberately ignoered this update due to the need of WPA 3 - which several of my devices not have.

It will be interesting to follow the answer from Zyxel.

    Hi @Chris888,

    Regarding MLO in firmware V7.20:

With the introduction of full Wi-Fi 7 support, MLO is now considered a feature of the wireless standard. As a result, the on/off toggle is no longer available to configure since it has been removed in firmware V7.20.

    Regarding the reboot issue:

Since the unexpected reboots are still occurring, we would like to investigate further. Please help collect the diagnostic info file from the AP at the time the reboot happens. This will allow us to analyze the problem more effectively.

    We appreciate your cooperation!

Update: I was on vacation for 2 days. No Reboot.

I think the reason is: No MLO device was online (Iohone and Win11-PC).

    See further things next week…

    Hi @Chris888,

    Thanks for your feedback!

Based on your description, we have attempted to reproduce the issue using an iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 18.5 in our environment but were unable to replicate the problem. Therefore, we would like to kindly ask you to help confirm the following points:

    • What iOS version is your iPhone 16 Pro running?
    • When both the iPhone 16 Pro and MacBook M4 Pro have the 6E feature enabled, does the device reboot immediately after connecting to the AP, or is the reboot intermittent?
    • If you enable the 6E feature on the iPhone 16 Pro and then restart the phone before connecting to the AP, does the reboot issue still occur?
    • If possible, could you please capture radio packets on the AP? Please select radiotap3=6GHz radio interface. The reference steps are as follows:
      a. Enable 6E on your iPhone 16 Pro
      b. Start packet capture on the AP with Wireshark targeting 6GHz packets
      c. Connect the iPhone 16 Pro to the AP
      d. If the AP reboots, stop the capture and save the file
      e. Provide us with the saved capture file and the wireless MAC address of your iPhone 16 Pro

(For more detailed instructions, please refer to this FAQ.)

Additionally, since you mentioned that remote access has already been allowed on Nebula, please kindly send us the organization and site name via private message.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

    Hi Tina,

    1. IOS is 16.5, MacOS 15.6

    2. Reboots immediately after connect - what i can see.

    3. never tested, in the mean time i switched BE to AX (on 5&6 GHz), no reboots anymore.

    4. I installed Wireshark (4.4.8) on my MAC, but your FAQ doesn´t show the same GUI, i´m not able to follow the instructions. Sorry.

    Send you allready "Organization".

    Regards

    Christian

It seems we are in the same boat, had V7.20(ACGG.1) installed end of last week and from 4th August getting random WBE660S reboots although haven't yet narrowed it down to certain devices.
