Overview

In Nebula19.20, Zyxel introduced a new enhancement under the MSP (Managed Service Provider) Portal called the Device Tab.
This feature gives MSP administrators a centralized view of all devices managed across multiple organizations, along with new bulk management tools to simplify remote operations.

The Device Tab significantly improves visibility, scalability, and operational efficiency for MSPs managing many customer sites under one account.

1.Purpose of the Device Tab

The Device Tab in the MSP Portal allows MSP administrators to:

  • View all devices across every managed organization in a single consolidated list.
  • Perform bulk management actions such as remote reboot.
  • Monitor device status and take quick actions without navigating into each individual organization.

It serves as a global inventory for MSPs, improving management across large, multi-site deployments.

2.Interface Overview

Location

In Nebula Control Center (NCC):

MSP> MSP cross-org management > MSP Portal > Device

Here, all devices across multiple organizations appear in one unified table.

Display

The Device Tab lists all device types managed under the MSP account, including:

  • Access Points (APs)
  • Switches
  • Firewalls
  • Mobile Routers

Each row displays the device model, organization name, connection status, and available management actions.

If your MSP manages a large number of devices across many customers, the page will aggregate all of them here for easier supervision.

3. New MSP-Level Device Actions

A. View Device Details

Administrators can quickly open detailed information for any listed device, such as:

  • Device Model
  • Organization and site assignment
  • Current online/offline status
  • Device MAC address and serial number

B. Bulk Device Reboot (Reboot Live Tool)

A new tool allows MSPs to reboot multiple devices simultaneously from the DeviceTab.

How It Works

  1. Select one or more devices from the list.
  2. Click Reboot.
  3. A confirmation pop-up appears — click Confirm to proceed.
  4. NCC pushes the reboot command to the selected devices.

If any selected device is offline, the Reboot button will appear grayed out, and the reboot command cannot be executed for that device.

Supported Device Types

This tool supports all Nebula cloud-managed devices, including:

  • Firewalls
  • Switches
  • Access Points
  • Mobile Routers

⚠️Important Recommendation

When performing bulk reboots, do not reboot all device types at once.

For example:

  • If you reboot a firewall and its connected switches and APs at the same time, the firewall will disconnect from Nebula first, preventing the switch and AP from receiving the reboot command.

Best Practice:
Perform reboot actions separately by device type (e.g., reboot firewalls first, then switches, then APs).

4.Comparison: MSP Device Tab vs. My Devices & Services

Zyxel Nebula contains two different device management views:

Feature

MSP Portal > Device Tab

My Devices & Services

Scope

Lists all devices owned or managed by the MSP across multiple organizations.

Lists devices owned by the currently logged-in account, regardless of organization.

Ownership

Devices are bound to the MSP company.

Devices are bound to the individual account.

Access Control

Devices appear if they belong to any organization managed by the MSP.

Devices appear if the account is assigned as an Administrator or Delegated Administrator for that organization.

Use Case

Centralized fleet management across multiple customer sites.

Personal or single-organization device monitoring.

Example Scenario

  • If an MSP manages 100 organizations and hundreds of devices, all will appear in the MSP Portal > Device Tab.
  • If an individual admin logs into their own account and has been assigned as a Delegated Administrator, those devices appear under My Devices & Services.

This distinction helps MSPs separate organization-owned devices from account-bound devices.

5.Performance and Optimization

For MSPs managing a large number of organizations and devices, initial page load time in the Device Tab may be longer.
Performance optimizations are under development to improve responsiveness when displaying thousands of devices across multiple sites.

6.Summary

Feature

Description

Centralized Device List

View all managed devices across all organizations in one place.

Bulk Reboot Tool

Reboot multiple cloud-managed devices simultaneously.

Device Detail View

Check model, connection status, and site details instantly.

Ownership Separation

Distinguish between MSP-managed and account-owned devices.

Cross-Organization Control

Perform actions directly from the MSP portal without switching orgs.

7. Key Takeaways

  • The MSP Device Tab consolidates all managed devices under one dashboard.
  • Bulk actions like rebooting make remote management easier.
  • Always reboot per device type to prevent failed operations.
  • The MSP Device Tab differs from My Devices & Services in ownership scope and purpose.
  • Further performance improvements are planned to optimize handling of large device inventories.

In short, the NCC MSP Portal Device Tab provides a powerful centralized tool for MSPs to manage, monitor, and operate all their customers’ devices efficiently from one interface — enabling faster maintenance and unified control at scale.
