Why is Nebula changing radio settings country code to the United States automatically
Zyxel Employee
If the any of the managed access points in the same site outgoing public IP is identified as being located in the United States, Nebula will automatically enforce the Radio Country Code as United States to ensure the device operates in compliance with U.S. wireless regulations.
In this state, the country code configuration located in Configure » Access points » Radio settings cannot be modified unless all devices are removed from the site.
Thus, if your deployment is genuinely located in the U.S., this behavior is expected and required to ensure regulatory compliance.
What if all the deployment is not in the United States, but the radio country code is still forced to U.S.?
In such cases, the most common cause is inaccurate country information in the third-party IP geolocation database that Nebula relies on. If your public IP is incorrectly classified as being located in the United States, Nebula will follow that data and automatically apply the U.S. Radio Country Code
How to resolve the issue
If you are not located in the United States and believe the Country Code is being forced incorrectly, please contact Zyxel Support (local support, community forum, or open a ticket).
