Hi there,

I bought a NWA130BE device from Amazon Warehouse which is still registered in Nebula. The person must have returned it without removing it first… The problem is that each time I reset it, if it manages to reach to the Internet on my network, it ends up pulling the configuration back from Nebula and get remotely managed again :-(

I have the proof of purchase and a screenshot of the serial number. Can someone help me unregistering the device, please?

Thanks,

D.

    Hi @Dulcow

You can resolve this by performing an ownership transfer. Please follow the steps below to register the device to your own account, which will automatically remove it from the previous owner's organization:

    1. Download the Nebula Mobile App: Install the app on your smartphone (available on iOS and Android).
    2. Scan the QR Code: Log in to your Nebula account in the app and use the "Add Device" function to scan the QR code located on the back of your NWA130BE.
    3. Complete Registration: Follow the prompts to register the device to your own organization. This action overrides the previous registration in most cases.
    4. Factory Reset: After successful registration, perform a final factory reset (press and hold the reset button for over 5 seconds) to ensure the AP pulls your new configuration.

If you receive an error message stating the device is "locked by the device owner" after scanning the QR code, please send a Private Message to me with the following details:

    • A photo of the device label showing the Serial Number (S/N) and MAC address.
    • The proof of purchase (Amazon Warehouse invoice/receipt).

I will then be able to manually unbind the device from the backend for you.

Thanks for the nudge but I do not want to get this access point to be managed by Nebula, just a standalone mode. Could you just unbind the device from the existing account and that's it?

    Thanks,

    D.
