Improving "Firewall Management" on Nebula by selecting objects

Hi,

As a network administrator….

I hope Zyxel can improve the firewall configuration on the Nebula platform.

Instead of "typing" the IP or subnet during the firewall configuration for security routers, please make the "drop-down" object selection list. It can avoid typos and improve the efficiency of the firewall rule management.

The competitors have already implemented the drop-down" object selection list for firewall configuration for years.

(Based on USG LITE 60AX)

Thank you.

Maverick

    Hi @KSD_Mav,

    Thanks for your input.

Due to inherent design limitations, the USG LITE 60AX does not support address objects in the same way as the USG FLEX H series firewalls. As a result, the current architecture does not provide an object-based selection method (such as a drop-down list for predefined address or subnet objects) when configuring firewall rules.

We understand the concerns and benefits you mentioned, and we will evaluate possible improvements based on the USG FLEX (ZLD) design approach, such as introducing predefined LAN1 and LAN2 interface options as selectable items in a drop-down list to help streamline configuration.

We will also monitor the votes and comments as part of our evaluation process. If others find this idea useful, please feel free to show your support by leaving a comment or voting for it.
