Impossible to connect iPad MD523TY/A to WPA3 SSID
Hello everyone,
I tried to connect a MD523TY/A iPad to a SSID with WPA3 (in transition mode).
It was impossible to.
I could only connect it to a WPA2 SSID (same AP, so apparently no issues with hardware incompatibility).
Is there any known issue with “old” hardware and transition mode?

Hi @GiuseppeR
May I know if you can help with these steps:
- Change the SSID setting back to WPA3
- Connect the IPAD to this SSID again
- Collect the AP's diagnostic file
Replicate the issue again before collecting the diagnostic will help us to investigate this issue.
Please also share the IPAD's detail information like "which generation of IPAD is it?", "which OS version is it?" Thanks!

Hi @Zyxel_Melen
the iPad is an old Apple iPad 4 MD523TY/A 32 GB from 2012 with Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n trying to connect to a NWA50AX V7.10(ABYW.4) with its iOS 10.3.4
I have to ask the customer if it is possible to make those tests, I'm far away right now

Hi @GiuseppeR
I found an iPad Air (MD785TA/A), which seems newer than the device you mentioned, and it's able to connect to an SSID with WPA3 in transition mode on iOS 12.5.8. Based on this, please ask your customer to update their iPad's iOS version first, if possible. This issue is more likely related to the end device's driver rather than the AP configuration. If the issue still persists after the update, the only workaround at this point would be to create a separate WPA2-only SSID.
