Why do we need to do portal redirect on an AP?

As the following scenario case: Remote site APs must support tunnel mode in order to use the captive portal.

So you can use redirect on AP feature to solve such case.

There are some benefits of the Redirect on AP :

1.Throughput increase (local bridge mode)

    Authentication packet goes back to the NXC controller

    Reduce the load for NXC controller’s CPU and memory

2.Remote site APs are not necessarily using tunnel mode

3.Captive Portal rule can be defined by the SSID and an address

4.Keep the service alive and secure
