Hi
a brief question, if anybody had tried that: is it possible to MOVE the disks in between slots? the reason is, it looks disk in slot4 has worst cooling, at it is part of RAID volume; I'd like to move it to other slot but without rebuilding RAID, if possbile; will that work?

thank You
MJK

    Hi

    I have tried that before on my NAS540, as I know NAS will check the file system which build in the HDD, therefore, change HDD slot would not cause RAID rebuilding.

    @MJK,

    NAS542 detect volume base on file system of HDD not slot,
    so you can change it,
    but I suggest you should power off NAS542 first then change it.
