Armor X1 AP issue with one device

I have an LG tablet (G Pad X 8.0, based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset) that supports 5GHz 802.11ac WiFi and functions perfectly in that mode when associated with my ASUS router, but does not function in that mode when associated with my Zyxel Armor X1 running in Access Point (AP) mode. It does function properly with both the router and the AP in 2.4GHz 802.11n mode, but while it does connect to the AP and obtains an IP address in 802.11ac mode, it has no LAN or Internet connectivity thereafter -- can't even ping anything, including the AP's and the router's IP addresses. The AP does function in 802.11ac mode with multiple other devices, so this would appear to be a strange incompatibility with this just this particular device (or its chipset, which is pretty mainstream).
Has anybody experienced a similar issue with an Armor X1?
Thanks.
