Analogue phone on VMG8924-B10A router

I have my analogue phone connected to my router and it all works fine but after a period of time (not sure exactly) the phone stops working.  When I picked it up I got a dial tone and when I dialled out, I got the busy signal but the number was ringing when I used my cellular phone.  When I rebooted the router, everything worked fine again.  Is there a setting one can change to try and correct this
