Is it possible to use the PLA4231 as an adapter?

I bought two PLA4231 extenders by mistake, instead of one PLA4231 extender and one PLA4201 adapter.  Could use the second PLA4231 extender as a PLA4201 adapter?

    Do you want to use PLA4231 and PLA4201 together? Or ...?
    In my house, they can work together. I'm use them.

    Router's LAN is connected to PLA4231, and PLA4231 is paired with PLA4201.
    My laptop is connected to PLA4201 via Ethernet cable, it works properly.

    Hi Edward.  No.  I bought two PLA4231 by mistake instead og one PLA4231 and one PLA4201.

    Two PLA4231 can be worked together.
    Can you describe more clear what kind of problem you meet?
