I see that it is strongly recommended to use the Maintenance -> Shutdown procedure before disconnecting power.
Basic question: How will it 'reopen'? Does the button change or is it automatic with Logon?

"Reopen" what??To restart the device? If so, you can plug in the power cord directly.

After "SYS" LED stop flashing, then system is rebooted completely

Rebooted? I was asking about a shutdown.
I have another model, but I think it should be the same.

I go in menu, click for shutdown, and wait until... what?
After some second it stops answering to ping, and at that point web interface cannot give feedback anymore.
There is a counter on the page, but it goes on forever.

After submitting shutdown requirement, the physical link will down in 10 seconds.
And all of services stop working even sys LED still up.
