Help to fix bricked PLA4231

Hello all,

I logged into the GUI of my PLA4231 yesterday and clicked to do a firmware update. It seemed to do nothing so after a few minutes I unplugged it and move it to a new location. It will now not power on correctly. The power light flashes 4 times then goes off. I have tried doing a reset using the button on the side but this makes no difference. If you connect to one of the LAN ports on it the LAN light on the PLA4231 will come on and stay on, flashing as though these it activity.

Please can someone help me with fixing this device? I have seen people have TFTP connected to them on here, but I do not understand how this is done and need some more guidance.

Please try below PLA4231 firmware upgrade procedure via WPS Button.

Download PLA4231 firmware:

Topology:

PLA4231(any LAN port) --- Ethernet Cable --- PC

Step 1:

Prepare TFTP Software - Tftpd software and Firmware Image.

Firmware Image must be renamed to ras.bin.

Step 2:

Setup PC to use a static IP: 192.168.1.33.

Step 3:

• Run Tftpd software.

• Put ras.bin file in the folder of Current Directory as shown in the

image below.

• Set the Server interface to 192.168.1.33.

Step 4:

Power on PLA4231 and push WPS hardware button immediately for 10 seconds and it will start upgrading firmware automatically.

Step 5:

The two LEDs will blink fast after upgrading firmware successfully.

Step 6:

Reboot PLA4231.

Step 7: (optional)

After booting up procedure is completed, reset PLA4231 to factory default via GUI or hardware button.

Step 8:

Finish.
