I have a VMG4381 modem with 500Mbps service.Only able to get approx 90Mbps.

I would suggest you to check with ISP firstlly to see if your modem is getting 500Mbps on WAN side. Also, if you are testing speed, make sure you do not have other traffic transferring data (such as bittorrent) at the time you are running speed test.
