VMG8324 - WD elements 3TB not visible in File Sharing Screen

When hooked up to my VMG8324s' USB port, my WD elements 3TB disk is not visible in the File Sharing Screen. It is NTFS formatted. Please advice. A 16GB Kingston USB stick works perfectly.
