I'm planning to do a full backup (+6TB data) before replacing (upgrading) disks on my NAS540.

Will Synchronization to another NAS540 preserve all file/folder/share attributes (all dates, security, ...)?
If not, is there another way to save all attributes (most importat at this point is file/folder date(s))

I think synchronization will preserve all the files and since you have mentioned you are planning to do a full backup, I suggest using Publish would be a better choice.

AFAIK the 'Mirror' option removes all 'orphan' files (not on source NAS) whilst 'Publish' just copies everything so I don't see why not use 'Mirror'.

I'm just a bit worried about date attributes (created, modified & accessed) on synced files.
The last option is to use 'Robocopy' with "/DCOPY:DAT /COPY:DAT" options... :#

    A quick update:
Zyxel's 'Mirror' and 'Publish' Doesn't preserve dates for folders...
    Some weird "bug"
Files seems to be handled properly.

Luckily Robocopy can handle and preserve both dates correct.
