Issue with ZyXEL router EMG3425

Hey all,

I've been struggling for the last few days to keep my DNS settings stable with the ZyXEL router that ting gave me. I use openDNS's webfiltering for parental controls and the like but for some reason after a few hours the router will just ignore the settings and provide unrestricted web access. When I go back into the router and edit anything and apply it, things are redirected through openDNS's servers and everything is fine.

Is there any chance my hardware is defective or am I doing something wrong? I've put the DNS servers under the WAN settings and the advanced DHCP server settings but I'm really at a loss at this point.
