New series of Western Digital Red HDDs (256MB cache, marked as "EFAX" or "SMR") are not mentioned in compatibility list https://www.zyxel.com/sk/sk/products_services/4-Bay-Personal-Cloud-Storage-NAS542/compatibility, only WD40EFRX (64MB cache, "CMR") drives are there.
Did anybody try WD40EFAX with NAS542?
I'm using 2x WD40EFRX and I'm wondering if it's possible to expand my RAID with WD40EFAX.
Thanks a lot

compatibility list
There is no such thing. It is a 'Verified Hard Disk List'. Those have been tested, others not. But every SATA disk should be compatible, and because there is no list of disks known to be incompatible, I think ZyXEL couldn't find them.

@birkoo one should generally not mix "CMR" with "SMR" drives because could lead to problems. Driverproblems

Gonna swap to Seagate IronWolf 8TB CMR disks soon(ish).
