Flashing ZyXEL WAP3205 v1, U-Boot doesn’t prompt

I am trying to flash my old ZyXEL WAP3205 v1 via serial. Connected to serial interface (using USB to TTL Serial Cable) and connected with Putty. As far as I know It should prompt me for selection:
Please choose the operation: 1: Load system code to SDRAM via TFTP. 2: Load system code then write to Flash via TFTP. 3: Boot system code via Flash (default). 4: Entr boot command line interface. 6: To emergency. 9: Load Boot Loader code then write to Flash via TFTP.
but U-Boot doesn't prompt me for anything. Selects default option 3 without prompting and boot. I have tried tens of time pressing 2 before powering and continue to press while booting, couldn't catch. I want to select option "2". How can I achieve this? Thanks.

hmm..this is a quite old model that zyxel has. From the symptom it looks like the bootbase in NVRAM was damaged, not sure if this is HW broken issue. You have another functional WAP3205 to crosscheck if the U-Boot command works?0

"You have another functional WAP3205 to crosscheck if the U-Boot command works? "Unfortunately, no."it looks like the bootbase in NVRAM was damaged, not sure if this is HW broken issue."But everything else is working fine.
