The tunnel uptime is related to phase 2 rekey lifetime and the default setting is 86400 seconds, when it 's rekey the traffic should still pass-through should not have the service impact may I know if you have encountered any issue?

I don't think my tunnels can stay up for 86400 sec.
I believe they fall before the set time

How long does the tunnel keep and can you find any error message in VPN category log?
Is there any service impact you have encountered?
It might the root cause if your WAN IP is dynamic, since the tunnel need rebuild.
