Hello everyone,,
I've been seeing these so called "gamer routers" and I've become very curious as to their function, can anyone explain to me what these routers do, does it increase network performance (lower ping in game and faster loading speeds?), are the routers plug and play? Is the NETGEAR R6700 Nighthawk a good "gaming router" what are the benefits or owning a "gaming router" will I need to buy NETGEAR CM700 cable modem? Do I need to have an ISP in order for the router to work? I mainly play FPS games and stream when I can.

If you're asking NETGEAR router, I think you should go to NETGEAR Forum.

I recommend ZYXEL Armor Z2 NBG6817.

And if you want to surf the Internet/play online game, yes, you need to have an ISP/modem.
