PLA5256 does not deliver full bandwidth

I don't understand how i can get 500/500 Mbps from a direct connection to my router, but on the powerline i get around 170 Mbps. They are like 5 meters apart from each other. Anyone knows why?

500Mbps is the total width as physical link in your powerline, but there are many noise in the powerline, so it will cause the speed down, you can refer the following link as Zyxel official description.
