[ZyXEL P-870HN-53b] I can't log into the web interface - need to reset router

Hey all, so a bit of backstory is needed.
We got the ZyXel P 870HN - 53b some (a lot of) time ago, but the wifi range wasn't good enough. So we bought another unnamed router which has quit it's job a few days ago, so we are now trying to ressurect the zyxel. However, i realised that i have changed the password and can't remember it.
I tried resetting the router (by pressing reset, duh) but the changed settings remain there and the ol' combo of admin and 1234 doesn't work. Can you tell me how to get the router to factory settings? Please, i'm desperate.

Have you tried keeping the reset pressed until you get some acknowledgment? A blinking led, or something like that. On some routers you have to have the reset button pressed while you power it up.

sry to keep you waiting; i managed to reset the router (i wasn't even pressing it) but man was the wan setting a pain in the assoh btw the reset is acknowledged by a red-blinking power diode0
