Static IP address on Zyxel (and mac address) on the router??

Please clarify an important doubt at this moment.

I want and like to use static IP address.

So far until today I have registered all IP addresses on the router.

Using the Zyxel 1900 switch I understand that the correct location to register the static IP addresses is within the switch, is this correct??? Please help!!
