If you set SSID for 5GHz and 2.4GHz band to different values, then can you confirm that you are using 802.11ac in 5GHz band?

According to the Armor G1 user guide at https://www.zyxel.com/support/download_landing/product/armor_g1_22.shtml?c=gb&l=en&pid=20200121174129&tab=User_s_Guide seems like you always have to have both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi enabled at the same time.
     - you can give them different SSID though, or it can be the same.

To get the 300Mbits speed on WiFi, you need to set the WiFi bandwidth to 40MHz see  https://www.bitfeed.co/page/wifi-20-mhz-or-40-mhz-how-to-choose-the-bandwidth and hope that there is enough channels available.
