How do 2 SIM work in NR7101?

In the manual there is no reference about dual SIM support.
How does it work? Can both SIM be used simultaneously? Or there is some sort of failover? Can I create 2 bridges, one per SIM to the same LAN interface?

I need the same info, anybody?
  • Since nobody answered, where can I find the official support center for NR7101?

  • Thanks Tony, unfortunately there's nothing there related to dual SIM support.

Hi, I was searching for the same info, there's no mention anywhere so far from my investigations. Did you find something meanwhile?

I have tried 2 sims with Swedish Telia and Swedish Tele2.
Could not connect to second sim, changed place but still the same.
Made this test with ABUV4 not latest firmware ABUV5.
  • I am also looking for more information of this dual SIM feature. There ist nothing documented in the Manual or in the FAQ...
  • In the meantime, I have received the latest information from Zyxel (in german):
Aktuell kann nur eine SIM Karte verwendet werden. Es soll jedoch in der nächsten Zeit eine neue Firmware erscheinen, bei welcher die zweite SIM Karte für Fail-Over Zwecke verwendet werden kann. Load-Balancing ist nicht geplant und auch eine Steuerung über die Zyxel Air APP nicht.
So NR7101 doesn't really seem to be fully developed and doesn't yet conform to the official specification. See here: Link
...Der NR7101 verfügt über zwei SIM-Karten-Slots, um Unterbrechungen des Netzwerks zu verhindern und einen unterbrechungsfreien Netzwerkzugang zu ermöglichen. ...

    The Zyxel response translates as
"Currently only one SIM card can be used. However, a new firmware is to be released in the near future, in which the second SIM card can be used for fail-over purposes. Load balancing is not planned, nor is control via the Zyxel Air APP."

So I guess that there is some incremental Agile or Scrum software development going on, where the hardware has been installed for the end goal, but the software has not got there yet.

    Cheers,
