What is the power consumption of the PLA6456?

Hello, I would like to know the power consumption of the PLA6456 powerline adapter in full operation and power saving mode.
I can't find any information regarding the actual power consumption given in watt in the user manual, forums or reviews.
Second question, what is the difference between the PLA6456 and PLA6457?
The PLA6457 is probably more recent but I can't find any difference between their specifications in their dedicated pages.
Thank you very much for your information and help!

@Zyxel_Jerry the request was power consumption. Thanks for reporting these specs but no one fullfill the question.

    Hello @User1516 and @mMontana

The PLA6457 complies with ITU-T G.hn G.9963, and that ITU-T recommendation points to G.9964 for the power spectral density.

Clause 6.5 of ITU-T recommendation G.9964 available at https://www.itu.int/rec/T-REC-G.9964-202002-I!Amd3/en says that the maximum transmit power on Baseband power line is +20dBm , which converts to 100mW of transmit power maximum.

So I don't think that the PLA devices will use much power themselves.

The passthrough power plug would be likely to use more power when something is connected to it.

I hope that this is helpful from a fellow user.

    Kind regards,
         Tony

    As a comparison, a TP-Link TL-PA717 has a maximum power consumption of 2.7W, see https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/powerline/tl-pa717-kit/#specifications

    2.7/240 = 11.25 mA.

It is an excellent idea to look at these recommendations, thank you. However, I have to admit that I'm not knowledgeable enough to understand the link between the 100mW and the few watts in real use (and what a huge difference!).

That is my problem, I have looked at other adapters for reference and their power consumption varies greatly. It seems that most of them use about 3W like the one you linked, but some others use much more power like the TP Link TL-PA8010P (6W in use advertised in their specs but it is up to 14W in use and 6W in power saving mode according to user measurements).

I find it very strange that the power consumption of the PLA6456 is not listed in its official specification page.
Is there any way to be sure of the power consumption of the PLA6456 / PLA6457 without measurement or has a measurement been made?

    Hi @User1516

    Thanks for the feedback.
    Here is the spec below,
    Full Operation: < 6 W
    Standby mode: < 0.5 W

We'll modify the specs on the official specification page.
