NAS 542 - double ethernet connection
It seems to me that when connecting both RJ45 to the router, the smart TV disconnected quite often from one IP and connects through the other, resulting to the loss of the smart icon on TV that connects it to the NAS.
Do I need to setup both RJ45s on the same IP? or is there another option to configure that will cause seamless playbacks and connectivity?

In most cases you'd better not connect both ethernet ports. You can use them if you want to connect the box to two different networks, or you can use link aggregation (when connected to a switch which support that) to create a virtual 2Gbit line (having 1 IP).
Connecting both ports to the same network having different IP's works, but generally doesn't have any advantage, while it can confuse some clients, as you found.
