PLA4201 V2 extender can be used as a Wifi extender?
Hi,
I found in my basement a pair of PLA4201 V2 extender with PLA4231. Can't recall the spec of the product but can I use the PLA4201V2 as wifi extender - is the device broadcasting wifi directly or is it to be used only with the Lan port and there I would need a wifi broadcaster to the connected to the PLA4201 V2? Thanks for your help.

The PLA can only use of ether, if you need a wifi extender, you need to buy a AP.

Hello @lvt80
Welcome to the forum.
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/zyxel-pla-4201-v2-500mbps-mini-powerline-adaptor-with-1xrj45-qos-pair-uk-plug shows the specifications, even though the device is end of life.
@Hill is correct, because you will need to add an Access Point on to the LAN port of one of the devices in order to extend your WiFi.
Zyxel makes Access Points see https://www.zyxel.com/uk/en-gb/products/wireless , as do other companies.
Kind regards,
Tony
