Not overriding the local device password via a Nebula one by default

It would be lovely, if the password wouldn't be overridden by default, after adding it to a site in the Nebula Cloud Console.

We would much more prefer adding a secondary cloud user with admin rights during the process, than overridding our existing password with one that has substantially less characters.

Kind Regards,

Sicom

    Hi @Sicom,

Thanks for sharing your idea with us.

You have this idea because you still need to log in to your devices, right? But why do you still need to log in to your devices after registering to Nebula?

Could you share more details about your scenario with us so we can better evaluate this idea?

"But why do you still need to log in to your devices after registering to Nebula?"

…because unless you pay ZyXel big money for subscription to be able to actually change the settings on your device through Nebula, you still have to login to the individual device to configure it.

    Hi @k1s,

When your Zyxel device is managed via Nebula, the majority of the settings can only be adjusted within the Nebula control center. Users are granted access to modify the non-Pro pack settings at no additional cost. However, these modifications cannot be made through the device's web GUI.

Furthermore, the Nebula Control Center offers Base Pack at no charge, enabling users to utilize the Nebula Control Center, a centralized management platform, for managing their devices.

"When your Zyxel device is managed via Nebula, the majority of the settings can only be adjusted within the Nebula control center"

…is apparently not correct. In fact for "mobile" router e.g. NR7101 you can't do any remote configuration without paid subscription. All you can do is view a view things and reboot it

    Hi @k1s,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

The Mobile router currently provides fewer configurations than other product lines on the Nebula control center now. Could you share which configuration you wish to be configurable on the Nebula control center? So I can help to add an idea post and discuss it with our team.

"fewer" is not really the appropriate word. As it stands there are no/none/zero/nil configuration options for mobile router. You cannot set anything. Obviously, Zxyxel wants us to pay a subscription. I get the business model, but after paying nearly £700 for the unit itself, it seems a bit greedy to then ask us to pay a subscription to change any settings.

The most useful would be LAN IP address, DCHP on/off,5G and 4G bands, Cell lock.

    Hi @k1s ,

Currently, Nebula provides IP Passthrough/Router mode configuration, the ability to schedule firmware upgrades or set them to auto-upgrade and monitor your network at any place as well, all without requiring a subscription. Users can configure LAN IP address, DHCP on/off with Nebula Indoor Mobile Router (NR5101, FWA510).

Your suggestion, which adds configurable mobile router features on the Nebula control center, would be valuable for all users of the Nebula Mobile router. Therefore, we would like to propose it as an idea for evaluation. You can find the link to the idea section below: Configurable Mobile Router Features on the Nebula Control Center. — Zyxel Community

Thank you for choosing Nebula. We appreciate your feedback and suggestions as they help us enhance our product.

Not for NR7101. You can't do any IP Passthrough/Router mode configuration without paying.

And further more the WAN status and cell info often doesn't work/display anything - just a spinning circle

…and it seems quite buggy (See below "unexpected error" messages, every time you log in:

    Hi @k1s ,

For NR7101, please refer to the screenshot to do IP Passthrough/Router mode configuration.

Could you tell us whether "unexpected error" messages appear once you log in and go to mobile router page or after you did something?

Related to the WAN status and cell info display, please enable Zyxel support by going to Help (On the top right) > Support Request > Zyxel support Access to enable and save for our checking.
