    Hi @Cham

This feature only blocks 2.4Ghz association requests, it could be possible for the client to have a hard time to connect if it perfers sending requests from 2.4Ghz radio first. What client device are you using?

So does turning the "Band Select" off help with Macbooks connecting to 5GHz band when both bands are on the same SSID?

    Hi @HealthByRo

The Band-Select feature delays the 2.4Ghz clients response to encourage the use of 5Ghz, it does not have impact over clients that already are connecting by 5Ghz.
Turning ON should help devices connect to 5Ghz, turning OFF will let the device connect as it prefers.
So the answer to your question is, no effect.

Macbooks normally prefers 5Ghz on the initial connection so under normal conditions this feature does not have influence. Unless 5Ghz signal is too bad and the Macbook initially uses 2.4Ghz to try connect, turning OFF band select will improve the connection but this connection will be on 2.4Ghz.
