How to configure router to allow access to external USB SSD

I have a VMG3925-B10C provided by my ISP. I have plugged a 1Tb external SSD into the USB port but can't access that from my laptop over wi-fi. In the router's admin pages - System Info - Interface Status it shows no USB devices detected. How do I configure the router to allow me to access the SSD over wi-fi?
Thanks
Rob

Hi @RobClack
Welcome to the forum.
Are you able to say what firmware version is running in your VMG3925-B10C please?
5.13(AAVF.18)C0 is available to download from https://support.zyxel.eu/hc/en-us/articles/4403361365778-Zyxel-CPE-Devices-Firmware-Advanced-Downloads-Firmwares-and-other-resources
The generic VMG user guide from 2019 available at
says that if you are connecting a USB hard drive then you use an external power source for it.So the issue might be not getting enough power for your USB hard drive.
Kind regards,
Tony

Hi Tony. My firmware version was not the latest, so I downloaded the one you suggest, checked it is compatible with my hardware and attempted to install it. However, I got a message that this was an invalid image. It then crashed the router, though fortunately not terminally. The external SSD is a Seagate with no option for its own power supply. I tried a tiny memory stick, in case the 1Tb was too big for the router, but that didn't work either.
Regards
Rob
