Hi, I have the Zyxel EX5601-T1 router. However, there's been a problem with settings whereby the buttons aren't working on the parental controls. I click them but nothing happens. Can you help please? thanks

Welcome to the forum.
I suggest that you check that the slider to enable Parental Controls is slid to the right as shown in the following extract in the user guide, available at linked from https://www.zyxel.com/service-provider/emea/en/products/ethernet-cpe/ethernet-iads/ex5601ex5600-t-series
If this does not work, then the suggestions from Marlene495Hadley above are sensible ones.
