Issues with Nebula packs

I have the Nebula Pro pack on my mobile router, but to get access to the router settings on a web GUI, I had to purchase Plus packs for my AP and Switch.

Now when I try to access the router settings it says I need to buy a Pro Pack to unlock this feature, although the current pack does not expire until March 2025.

Anyone able to explain what's happening?

cheers

Ricky

    Hi @Brollachan

To access the Pro Pack features, all Nebula devices in your organization need to have a Pro Pack license. You can check the status of your organization by navigating to Organization-wide > License & Inventory > Overview in your Nebula Control Center. Since your AP and switch currently only have the Plus Pack license, your Nebula organization type will be downgraded to the Plus Pack.

To get the one feature I want, I would have to pay double this time and my previous payment was for nothing …

All this has done, is leave me questioning my decision to try out Zyxel, considering most of these features are free with other manufactures.

    Hi @Brollachan

From your description, it sounds like you're aiming to use the Remote Configurator feature on your Nebula mobile router. Since this feature falls under the Pro Pack, it requires a Pro Pack license for all Nebula devices in your organization to maintain the Pro Pack organization level. This is part of our Nebula Control Center design and licensing policy.

If you prefer, you can still access the Nebula Mobile Router’s web GUI through local access as an alternative to remote access.

@Brollachan, here’s a quick trick! Since creating extra Nebula orgs is free, you can set up another one under your account. Just register your Nebula mobile router to the new org, and you’ll get Pro features for the mobile router while keeping Plus features for your switch and AP. 🤭

Carroll, thanks for the idea, this would work until I re-do my network 😊

Unfortunately, in the long term, I do not see a viable way forward while using Nebula, hence using Zyxel equipment in general.

If you buy a Pro Pack for a device, it should work for that device, but Nebula decided to only give you a conditional pack instead, and try to sell more packs you don’t want or need (why do you charge for 3rd party devices plugged into a switch or connected by Wi-Fi?)

For me to meet the conditions to access a mobile router remotely it would cost my £513.09 annually and I still have to get a firewall and extra AP’s to complete my network.

For a home user, your business model does not work and when a company points things out in the Terms and Conditions or Licensing Policy knowing full well no-one has the time to read/understand the amount sent out now, not forgetting the emails/text to updates on said T&C’s, then that company is only looking out for itself and has little or no interest in its customers.

Furthermore, if as a company you do not realise that higher end network equipment is becoming more normal now for ordinary households, and the growing demands of internet access. So, assuming everyone using your equipment is a business or company and charging accordingly is a serious flaw.

    cheers
