My Epson printer (model WF2820) is unable to connect to Wi-Fi (Zyxel FWA505 5G router)
Hi.
I know this topic has already been covered in other discussions, but I still haven't found a good solution to my problem.
I have tried them all, but there is no way the printer in question will connect to the Zyxel router I have.
The printer is using the latest firmware, the router too, I have already tried using two separate SSIDs to connect the printer only to the 2.4Ghz band but no dice, it keeps telling me "wrong password" even though it is obviously the right one.
I already did a reset to factory data on both devices, still nothing, I even tried setting the WPA security protocol in the router (not at all secure nowadays) but nothing seems to work.
Even through the WPS connection there is no way they will connect.
I tried connecting the printer to the phone hotspot and strangely enough it works fine, even with WPA3 set.
I don't know what to do anymore, I'm going crazy with this situation, please help.

Hi @Phrdxo ,
Try these steps to clarify the Wi-Fi connection issue:
- Forget/ Delete the existing Wi-Fi network profile from your printer
- Attempt to reconnect to verify if this resolves the problem
- If issues persist, temporarily set the security level to 'No Security' as a test. This will help determine if there's a WPA compatibility issue between your printer and FWA505.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried setting the "No Security" option and the printer connects without problems (obviously it is not a valid solution). I then tried to reset the same security protocol compatible with the printer, namely "WPA2-PSK(AES)" but it continues to tell me again that the password is not correct, even though it's obviously the correct irfecone. I don't know what to do anymore, with other routers previously this problem didn't occur.

Hi @Phrdxo ,
According to the spec sheet of the printer model WF2820 provided by Epson, the device is only Wi-Fi 4 - 802.11n capability. (WorkForce WF-2820DWF | MicroBusiness | Inkjet Printers | Printers | Products | Epson Europe)
Due to the old Wi-Fi standard concern, I would recommend configuring the Wi-Fi settings following below recommendations:
1. Separate the 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi.2. Configure the 2.4Ghz SSID for printer wireless connection, set the bandwidth to 20MHz.
3. Manually fix the channel to channel 1 to avoid channel capability issues which ever appeared in past IoT device wireless connectivity cases.
4. The printer only supports WEP 64 Bit, WEP 128 Bit, WPA PSK (TKIP), WPA PSK (AES) security mode, please further select the "WPA/WPA2-PSK" security mode for the FWA505.

Honestly, this doesn't seem like a valid solution for this problem. In my case I need and I prefer to keep the same settings both for 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands. Since this printer is the only device that has issues with this router I think I'll just use the printer's Wi-Fi direct. Thanks anyway for the support.
