Connection between two Zyxel GS1920-48HPv2 over LACP
Hello,
i want to connect two Zyxel GS1920-48HPv2 switches together due to failover reasons via LACP but i get stuck here.
I have following setup as shown in the picture:
I have configured static LACP between Switches in Building 1 Ground Floor Rack 1 and Building 1 Ground floor Rack 2 but as soon i connect cables, both switches get unavailable.
I have the same configuration between Switches in Building 1 1st Floor and Building 1 Ground Floor Rack 1 - everything is working fine!
I have copied the configuration from the working setup to the other 2 switches but i can´t get it running.
Maybe somebody of you have an idea why?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @mango122,
LACP group cannot be used cross-segment. I assume the LACP group between 1 floor and rack 1 is the same as the group between rack 1 and rack 2 since you said you copied the configuration. Please make one group as T1 and another as T2.
Please feel free to share rack 1 & 2's configuration so we can investigate deeper.

Hello,
thanks for your reply - i tried to change the Groups, but is still the same issue.
Please find configurations attached
Additional information: When i activate LACP protocol on Rack 2 the Ports are up without Switch is going Down. On Rack 1 the Ports are also up with State "BLOCKING" - as soon as i activate LACP on Rack 1 too, Switch is going down again.

Hi @mango122,
I checked your configurations and I found some strange things. The rack2 configuration has static LACP and LACP, and the rack1 configuration has LACP only. If the file names of the configurations are correct, this is more likely misconfiguration.
Please recheck your configuration. The LACP needs both connecting switches to be enabled. If not, the link will be blocked.

Hi @mango122,
I checked your configuration again, that rack 2 misses "trunk T7 lacp" configuration.
Could you set it on rack 2? If you set "trunk Tx lacp", the connecting switch must also set this command to negotiate. Otherwise, the switch will block the port.
