Hi Zyxel Team!

There are no H-models in the myZyxel.com portal to download official firmwares for the devices.
Even when I follow the download-link in the support page of the device (https://portal.myzyxel.com/my/firmwares?fw_version=1.31(ABZI.0)C0&model=USG%20FLEX%20700H) there is nothing in the download-section. I tried my personal and the company account.

    Hi @JS87 ,

Currently, H series devices must be upgraded through cloud updates. To prevent issues with unregistered devices or other unexpected problems, we do not plan to provide users with direct access to download the official firmware.

    Hi Judy

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately that's kind of bad news.

I updated my 700h with Nebula from a custom 1.30 firmware (from @Zyxel_Kai) to 1.31 and the hole network went bonkers! Both WAN interfaces were constantly losing their connection.

So I tried to switch back to the custom firmware, but the device ignored it after a restart. Eventually I deleted two objects and after that the WAN-interfaces stayed online.

Now I'm not trusting the Nebula-update-feature very much, without a 2nd partition to roll back to.

Are Zyxel partners able to download firmware directly somewhere? I convinced my IT department to switch from Sophos to Zyxel for all our customers and now I fear I've made a mistake. 😟

    Best Regards
    Jay

    Hi @JS87 ,

Eventually I deleted two objects and after that the WAN-interfaces stayed online.

Are you saying that after deleting two objects with firmware 1.31, the network started working properly? If so, we think the network issues are not related to the firmware version you're using. Could you provide more details about which two objects you deleted and any other information that could help us support you?

I'm not sure why I created them in the first place, but it were address objects as hosts (which didn't make any problems with firmware 1.30).

One with the IP-address from WAN1 as host
Second with the IP-address from WAN2 as host

I didn't replicate the situation since the network was running again. I'll try that on the weekend!

I'll also check the temp. and usage because the device is louder than ever, beside the fan-noise-patch which I found in the release notes of 1.31.

    Just a short update:
Today we had an power outage (because they installed new power-meters in the house) and after booting up the 700h, the error from the beginning reappeared :(

I checked if an older config was loaded but no, the address objects were still the same, so that idea was probably a coincidence and not the fault.

That the first WAN1 over a SFP+ modul with 10Gb/s fiber didn't work, wasn't that bad (I will call the ISP tomorrow and ask, what they see on their side), but that the WAN2 over Ethernet behind a normal Modem/Router didn't work (were all other hosts in that ISP-network work) was very strange.

So I reset the whole firewall and reconfigured the WANs, but only the Ethernet is working now.

    I'll report back tomorrow!
