Hello,

My network consist of 2 switched (XMG1915-10E and GS1915-8) that are located in 2 different rooms. All devices have a NCC pro license.

On my main switch (XMG1915-10E) I have hooked up my access point (NWA130BA) and on the other switch is my AppleTV. This apple TV is my homekit hub for all my lights.

However, when I switch on DNS Threat/IP Reputation Filter (Configure/ access point /security service), the homekit devices stop responding.

I would like to use the DNS protection, but I have no idea what the issue might be.

Anyone had this issue or knows how to solve it?

Thanks,

Jurgen

    Hi @JurgenS,

You can check the event log to find which domain/IP was blocked.

Then set it to the allowed list.

If you need any further help, please enable Zyxel support access so we can help check this issue.

    Goodmorning,

I tried as suggested and did not find any DNS threat blocks that are linked to apple/homekit.

We noticed also that some icloud functions are not working as aspected when DNS Threat/IP reputation filter is enabled. One example is managing our daugthers screen time through Icloud.

And in the mean time I also found that my company's VPN does not function when this filter is enabled. No blocked DNS's/ip found in this case.

I will enable Zywel support access since I am unable to find any reason for this behaviour.
