My NMA130BE mesh node will not reconnect
I had an issue earlier which a router reboot fixed.
Since I rebooted my router, my main gateway NWA130BE AP is online but my mesh node NWA130BE will not reconnect to the gateway AP.
The light flashes blue a few times then goes solid green for a few seconds and then repeats.
Please can someone help!

hello @Andrew_em
Is the mesh node connected over wifi only or do you use a lan cable?
if it is wifi only, try to connect it with a lan cable. it might be the wifi configuration got lost on the node.

It's connected via wifi only - it's not really practical to run an ethernet cable between the primary node and it.
It did eventually reconnect when I rebooted the primary node - but it would be good to get some feedback from a Zyxel support team member about the errors that had occurred as I need to know if there's anything I can do to make sure this doesn't become a recurring issue.

Hi @Andrew_em ,
We found that you fixed 6GHz as the band for smart mesh connection. From the diagnostic information, we can see there is interference with the 6GHz band, which likely caused the Repeater AP (mesh node) to be unable to find and connect to the Root AP (primary node).
We recommend changing the band setting to "Auto," which will still prefer high bands but can switch to another band if there are issues with the high band.
Additionally, the Repeater uplink signal is approximately -68dBm. Please check if it's possible to move the Repeater AP closer to the Root AP to improve the signal strength to -65dBm or better, which would make the mesh connection more stable.

thanks for that.
The nodes are in the same location as ASUS mesh nodes were and they consistently got -49dBm.
My LG TV cannot connect to the main SSID today.
It’s MAC address is f8:b9:5a:af:1a:64
connection attempted about 8:25 this morning. And ideas?

Hi @Andrew_em ,
My LG TV cannot connect to the main SSID today.
What is your main SSID?
What message or symptom are you seeing on the LG TV? Could you share the screenshot?

Now my Macbook won't connect again.
What is going on with this AP that this is a consistent issue?

Ok so I think my virgin router keeps crashing and refusing to assign IP addresses.
This makes sense as my devices are all able to connect and see the internet when I change the SSID to NAT mode.
I changed my main SSID to NAT mode, but as predicted, my Sonos system won't work.
Question: Can I set up some port forwarding or other rules that will allow the Sonos speakers and my phone to see devices that are connected to different APs, or am I going to have to change my setup and get a router to replace the DHCP service the Virgin router is so bad at?
Alternatively, is there a Zyxel product that can replace my Gateway AP (the one wired to my router) that can handle DHCP without the limitations of NAT mode? I.e. a tri band mesh capable router?

It is 'Never Join' which is the only SSID that is not in NAT mode.
It just keeps trying to connect. I also had the issue where my macbook wouldn't connect and then when I logged into my virgin router it seemed to have crashed again which I guess was the problem, and why I was still able to use devices in NAT Mode.
So I guess I want to take away the DHCP function from my Virgin router.

Hi @Andrew_em ,
You can refer to Zyxel USG Lite 60AX which supports DHCP server and can establish smart mesh with your Repeater NWA130BE (mesh mode). With this, you can configure your SSID with local bridge mode.

Hi - appreciate the help here - thanks.
My concern is that this is a dual band router, and my understanding is that where I am reliant on wireless backhaul/uplink it is better to have tri band so that the mesh nodes have more bandwidth to use for the mesh traffic.
My ISP is 400Mb/s, so will replacing the gateway AP with the 60AX mean that devices that are connected to the repeater AP will still be able to get their full bandwidth?
Can I add a managed switch between my router and my AP to deal with the DHCP?
Is there a way I can simulate this setup with my current setup to establish the impact?
